‘Kryten’ to speak at the ERA Midlands Energy Conference!

Robert Llewellyn, host of the electric vehicle show ‘Fully Charged’ has been announced as the keynote speaker for the Energy Research Accelerator’s ‘ERA Vision: Midlands Energy Conference’ on 26th November 2018.

Best known for playing the mechanoid ‘Kryten’ in the cult comedy Red Dwarf, Robert Llewellyn will be providing a fascinating insight into the green transport revolution as a result of new technological developments such as electric cars.

As an avid enthusiast of electric cars, having owned one for almost a decade, Llewellyn has become an authority on renewable energy and electric vehicles. His website and YouTube channel ‘Fully Charged’ are platforms for discussion around the issues relating to the future of energy and transport, including test driving electric vehicles and exploring how electricity is generated and owned to power various forms of electric transportation.

The Energy Research Accelerator (ERA) brings together the expertise of eight universities from across the Midlands – Aston, Birmingham, Cranfield, Keele, Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham, Warwick, and also the British Geological Survey (BGS). Researchers across the ERA partnership are working with industry to develop and demonstrate practical new technologies which can be applied to real-world situations.

The ERA Vision – Midlands Energy Conference, which is free of charge to attend, brings together leading experts from academia, industry and government, who will be discussing topics including Smart Cities and Community Energy, Energy Storage, Prospering from the Energy Revolution, New Energy Technologies and other aspects of the energy landscape.

Robert, who will be delivering the keynote presentation at the end of the day on the subject of ‘The Green Energy Revolution’, said: “I am looking forward to speaking at the Energy Research Accelerator’s energy conference to give my perspective on the future of transport and hopefully to help shatter many of the misconceptions that people may have about electric vehicles.
“Moving to greener forms of transport is essential if we are going to significantly reduce CO2 emissions, but electric cars are also really enjoyable to drive too and I want to get that message across by sharing my experiences of driving them.”

ERA’s Chief Operating Officer, Emma Kelly, said: “We’re delighted that Robert Llewellyn has agreed to speak at the ERA Vision conference. I am sure that delegates will be very interested in his thoughts on the future of transport and in particular electric cars.
