Speaking about the COP28 UAE agreement today, Professor Martin Freer, Director of the Energy Research Accelerator (ERA) said: “We broadly welcome the agreements made at COP 28 to transition away from fossil fuels and to provide finance to support vulnerable nations impacted by climate change. However, the world needs to move quickly in order to prevent the worst impacts of climate change and to limit the global temperature rise to no more than 1.5c degrees.
“As the UK’s largest partnership of university experts in clean energy, ERA has a vital role to play in continuing to research and develop new energy solutions as quickly as possible and to support the commercialisation of these technologies.
“The ERA partners will continue to do all they can to support the fight against climate change.”
